Thus far, this book has not been what I expected at all. The characters, especially the narrator and his wife, are much more relatable and human than what my AP English Lit teacher described last year. Delillo does employ elements of absurdism, but not in a distracting way, and I find myself genuinely interested in the plot development (yes, shocking! A quintessentially postmodern novel… with a plot!). Delillo’s storytelling is masterful but not pretentious. I don’t understand why Fordham doesn’t make a bigger deal of its association with this author.

Manhattanhenge I
Manhattanhenge (the time of year when the sun’s path perfectly lines up with the Manhattan grid) is an interesting event to shoot - while the light is amazing, it presents a ton of technical issues, mostly around exposing a giant fireball of light. I aimed for the crowd, rather than the sun.
If you want some technical details: I used a 50mm lens for this shot along with a Hoya Polarizing filter.
